Destinations

White Rocks

White Rocks is a beautiful game land area with wonderful hiking trails along the ridge. There are many campsites, small and large, and some nice rock climbing sections as well. Located a few miles in, it joins the Appalachian Trail at a point called Center Point Knob, named when it was the center point of the AT between Maine and Georgia. And White Rocks is only 15 minutes from campus!

Gifford Pinchot State Park

This State Park surrounds a large lake with beaches on either side. The lake provides an awesome place to sail or kayak and there is a great network of trails around it!

Pine Grove Furnace

Pine Grove Furnace is a state park set within a very luscious Pennsylvania valley, consisting of high ridges and surrounding hills. There is many opportunities for hiking, swimming, rock climbing, and camping. This state park is about 45 minutes from campus!

Peter's Mountain

Peter’s Mountain is a section of the Appalachian Trail located right on the other side of the river near Harrisburg. It is one of our favorite spots to go hiking because it is close, offers easy hiking, and has magnificent views!

Hawk Rock

Hawk Rock is a great little part of the Appalachian Trail which offers a short, steep hike up to a beautiful view. The trail continues on flat ground for several miles after that.

Pole Steeple

This area has incredible views of surrounding hills, valleys, and Laurel Lake. It’s located in Pine Grove Furnace
