ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ exceeds the fundraising goal for The Campaign for ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, finishing at $83.4 million

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ today announced the successful completion of its largest-ever capital campaign, The Campaign for ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ: Learning for Life, Transforming the World. The $83.4 million raised exceeded the campaign’s $75 million goal. The purpose of the campaign, which launched in 2015, was to support ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s vision to educate students for a lifetime of learning opportunities, including engaging its students and alumni beyond the undergraduate and graduate programs to include certificates, adult degree programs and enhanced learning courses as outlined in the University’s current strategic plan.

This campaign encompassed several broad areas that support the University’s efforts to fulfill its vision including: The ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fund and scholarship aid, scholarship and program endowments, new facilities, and estate planning gifts. Among the new facilities included in the campaign are the Ralph S. Larsen Finance Lab, the Falcon Fitness Center, Sawyer Gymnasium, Jordan Court in Hitchcock Arena, the Kim S. Phipps Admissions and Welcome Center, an enhanced campus entrance, a renovated Engle Center for Counseling and Health Services, and upcoming hospitality and upgraded seating facilities at Starry Athletic Complex.

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s distinctive Christ-centered education that prepares student leaders is needed now more than ever,” said Kim Phipps, president of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. “The success of The Campaign for ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ enables us to move forward as an institution of academic excellence and gracious Christianity, preserving core values that are part of the institution’s heritage while also embracing many of the important distinctives of different Christian traditions.”

The University remains focused on ensuring a high-quality ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ education remains affordable for students and their families. “ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ has a legacy of generosity that has sustained our mission since our founding 114 years ago,” noted Board of Trustees President Craig Sider. “We remain grateful to God for those who have invested in the past, present and promising future of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.”
