Meet the Fellows

Kylie Smith

Kylie Smith is a Junior Public History Major with a Concentration in Conservation and Agriculture. Her main passion is studying heritage breed livestock and the role they play in presenting history to the public. This year in the Humanities Fellowship, she is continuing her work with Harrisburg Historical, working on research and writing. Her hope is that her research will create meaningful stories that connect the public to local history.

Sarah Meeks

Sarah Lee Meeks is a student pursing a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS0, as well as a minor in the TESOL education program. She has a high passion for working with those from diverse cultural backgrounds and enjoys teaching about the Civil Rights movement! She hopes to provide readers with a personal connection to the Harrisburg community. Sarah wishes to gain experience working with immigrant communities and share their stories one day, too!

Isabella Kern

Isabella Kern is a junior studio art major with a concentration in 2-dimensional studies. She also has a minor in art history and is working towards completing chemistry courses to pursue a degree in art conservation. Isabella is excited to use her creative skill sets in graphic design and visualization to contribute to the marketing and visual aspects of the Public Humanities Fellowship. She hopes these contributions will aid in educating more of the Harrisburg community on the rich history of the area. Isabella also hopes to help preserve the history in the region through the many projects done through the Fellows.

J T Crocenzi

J.T. Crocenzi is a senior English major with a concentration in literature. He is excited to bring his skills as a writer, editor, and researcher to the Center for Public Humanities team to help tell the stories of Harrisburg's community. He hopes to aid the Center's efforts in connecting the community to resources about Harrisburg's important role in the Civil Rights movement.

Phoebe Lemin

Phoebe Lemin is a Public History major with an art history minor. Phoebe is excited to use her skills in historical writing and data visualization to contribute to the ongoing projects in the Center for Public Humanities that help bring attention to the history and identities of those in the Harrisburg community. She hopes that her contributions will help others reclaim their ancestor's legacy. She also hopes that her involvement in the Public Humanities Fellowship will address local needs by having her be a purveyor of historical information.
