The Career & Professional Development Center is pleased to announce its Into the City trip for the fall 2024 semester!
We will travel to Denver on October 19 - 23 to connect with alumni and friends of the University who live and work there.

Overview of the Program
Into the City is a dynamic and immersive career development and networking program designed to introduce students to living, working, and connecting in the city. Our primary aim is to provide students with unique opportunities to engage with alums, parents, and friends of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ through various activities, including company site visits and tours, informative presentations and panel discussions, and a networking reception.
There will be representation from a variety of organizations, both corporate and non-profit. Regardless of your interest in the alums’ particular titles or employer affiliations, this experience provides valuable information to a wide range of career interests.

Program Objectives
- Receive an orientation to city living, working, and community.
- Broaden awareness of career options aligned with individual strengths and interests.
- Obtain information on essential skills, characteristics, and effective strategies for skill development.
- Gain insight into various industries, hiring practices, workplace cultures, & tips for interested candidates.
- Build career planning confidence and decision-making skills.
- Recognize the importance and process of building meaningful connections within the city.
Who Should Apply?
Applicants are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics to be considered for participation in ITC:
- Eagerness to explore diverse career opportunities and paths, regardless of major or specific interest area.
- Ability to effectively articulate the fit between personal career goals and objectives of the program.
- Professionalism and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Capability to positively represent the values of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.
- Flexible and positive attitude towards new experiences.
Cost
The cost to participate in the program is $200.00, cash or check, or $203.00 if paying by credit card (to cover processing fees). Please note that this fee is non-refundable and covers transportation, overnight accommodations, and some meals. The cost is slightly higher this year due to airfare.
Participant Expectations
- If we have a large number of applicants, interviews will be conducted with candidates on September 11 and 12.
- Accepted students must pay by September 19. If your payment is not received by this date, you will lose your spot on the trip.
- Accepted students must attend an orientation session on October 13.
- Accepted students must agree to participate in all aspects of the program as noted in the schedule.
- Accepted students must obtain professors' approval and make arrangements to be absent from any classes.
