Application process and criteria for transfer students

Applying to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ is simple. As a transfer student, there are just a few more items to keep in mind.

  • Enrollment is limited in certain majors and programs offered by the University. Some majors require additional application to the program after a student is accepted to the University, in which case prerequisite courses, passing test scores, or a specific minimum GPA attainment may be required prior to entering the major. Applicants who are accepted for admission to the University but who cannot be accommodated in the major or program of their choice will be permitted to select another major.
  • Those deciding to enter the University as an undeclared student must meet all departmental requirements for the major they will eventually select. Undeclared students are not guaranteed entrance into any major they choose since programs with limited capacity may be closed. Transfer applicants should refer to the catalog for more information on specific major requirements.

Transfer students should apply two or three months prior to the start of a semester, allowing time for credits to transfer and financial assistance to process.

Here’s what you need to apply, in addition to a completed application:

  • official college transcript(s) from all other institutions you have attended after high school graduation
  • final high school academic record (Required of all transfer applicants who have completed fewer than 24 college credits post-high school graduation)
  • personal statement
  • application fee of $50 (waived if your application is received before Nov. 15)
  • standardized test results (Required of all transfer applicants who have graduated within the past two years and have completed fewer than 12 college credits post-high school graduation. ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s SAT code is 2411. Our ACT code is 3630. Note: this requirement may be waived at the discretion of the transfer admissions team.)

Once all application documents are received, admission decisions are processed on a rolling basis which means you should know if you’re accepted within a few weeks of submitting all of your application materials.
