The 1,750 square-foot athletic training lab includes:
Cardiovascular Equipment for cardiovascular fitness assessment and musculoskeletal warm-up prior to completion of therapeutic exercise and injury risk reduction programming.
TRX Athletic training students will learn how to help people improve their strength and mobility using TRX suspension training.
Plyometric ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students learn to use plyometric tools to help athletes develop muscular power, speed and agility.
Functional movement screening This area allows athletic training students to assess an athlete’s mobility and stability to help determine a training program that is best suited to the athlete and the least likely to cause injury.
Y-balance testing Athletic training students learn to assess an athlete’s balance, stability and strength to minimize injury risk.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Student learn to locate soft tissue restrictions using Hawk Grips therapy equipment to restore healthy tissue movement, improve range of motion and reduce pain.
Hydrotherapy Equipment is available for instruction regarding hydrotherapy for muscle recovery and treatment of various symptoms of musculoskeletal injury.
Therapeutic Modality ultrasound/stim combo units Athletic training students have the opportunity to utilize electrotherapy stimulation and ultrasound technology to treat a wide array of symptoms related to musculoskeletal injury.
Biofeedback Our lab features mTrigger biofeedback tools to teach the use of biofeedback to help athletes and other physically active people achieve optimal physical performance by learning to better activate and recruit skeletal muscle.
