UPROOTED: Inner Experiences of Exile
2018 Humanities Symposium Dance Concert
Directed by Gregg Hurley
Choreographed by Gregg Hurley & Danielle Smith Guillermo
The essential meaning of exile is that we find ourselves separated from home—but what causes a person to not feel “at home” in one’s own skin and surroundings? In Uprooted, the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ College premier dance ensemble, GiViM, explores the choices and actions that lead us to feel dislocated from our true selves through the medium of dance. Join us, as we investigate this sense of exile and seek what must transpire in order for us to return home.
