The Importance of Maintaining Spiritual Wellness

The Bridge Center at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ is hosting 8 educational courses for entry and mid-level Long-term care leaders. Each course will focus on a unique aspect of spirituality and will encourage Long-term care leaders in their personal journeys as well as provide tools to support their co-workers and team members. Courses can be completed as standalone events; or participants can earn a Certificate of Completion if they complete the “4 Core Courses” and 2 of the Elective Courses.

The benefits of spiritual well-being are numerous and include a deep sense of inner peace, an increase in hope, compassionate relationships, a reduction in stress, anxiety, and compassion fatigue. When employees are spiritually healthy there is more clarity when faced with making everyday choices and taking actions that are more consistent with our beliefs and values. This course will provide practical tips for caring for your mind and spirit and creating an organizational culture that promotes spiritual wellness.
Presenter Bio: Joanna Behm, EdD, MS, OTR/L, COMT, CDP, is a full-time faculty member in the Master of Occupational Therapy Program at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. She has over 9 years of experience working as an occupational therapist across the continuum of care. Her clinical expertise includes geriatrics, dementia, Parkinson's disease, and manual therapy. Currently, she works with older adults in an outpatient clinic.
