Celebrating Lunar New Year

Celebrating Lunar New Year

  • Date: February 19th, 2021
  • Location: Online
  • Time: 2:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Cost: FREE

Lunar New Year will be celebrated for seven days, starting Feb. 12, both virtually (through social media) and in person. Two of those seven days will be in person giveaways of traditional crafts and (inedible) goodies.

Lunar New Year is one of the most widely celebrated holidays across the globe, especially in East Asia. It is a time when people gather with their families to rejoice in the coming year. The Asian Student Association wishes to provide those who are unable to return to their homes with comfort and joy, and to teach the majority campus how to celebrate this holiday.

Lunar New Year is celebrated for about a week on average. Thus, the Asian Student Association will also be celebrating for a week through both virtual and in person events.

Stay tuned on our instagram, @mu_asianstudentassociation, for updates on giveaways, daily fun facts (throughout the week), interactive quizzes on our stories, and videos on how to create traditional LNY art!
