How did you get your current job? - and/or- Why did you choose this graduate
program?:
After ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, I pursued a doctorate of pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Pittsburgh school of pharmacy. Upon graduation I obtained and completed a fellowship at the National Association of
Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) in Arlington VA as well as worked as a pharmacist for CVS pharmacy on nights and weekends. Upon completion of my fellowship, I obtained a role at the CVS Health corporate headquarters in Woonsocket RI.
Why did you choose this degree at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ College?:
I always knew I wanted to go to pharmacy school and the advice I was given was to pursue chemistry in undergrad as it teaches you how to find solutions and problem solve while also accomplishing the ore requisites for a pharmacy program.
How did your ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ College degree prepare you for this career?:
Besides the obvious of my degree meeting prerequisites for entry to pharmacy school, my degree from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ helped to fundamentally shape me in various areas. My degree prepared me by creating a structured way to problem solve, find answers, ask the right questions and integrate my faith into all areas of my life.
Is there any specific advice you would offer someone pursuing or considering
this degree?:
Have fun! Obviously this is a great endeavor but it is very possible to lose sight of the bigger picture. We were a tight family who knew how to accomplish goals but also how to cut loose and enjoy each other’s company (see department potlucks, game nights, and study sessions). Just as in life after ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, my ability to balance work and life goes back to the lessons I learned in Kline and Jordan. Additionally we have THE best professors on campus.
